I agree with the salt bath, I have contracted either poison ivy or the virgina creeper vine both of which I have in my yard. The funny thing is I don't know how I came in contact with it. Possible from my doggies, they like to jump on my legs. However, I noticed the red dots on Monday thought they were mosquito bites only to wake up the next morning with this blazing & huge fluid sack on my knee, I took an empson salt bath and let the crystal dry on my leg. I tried this for 2 days, the blister got bigger and stilled itched. I went to Walmart and purchased Zanfel which is for poison ivy, sumac & oak. What is does is bind to the oils from the plant and washes away till you don't feel the itch anymore; you may have to do it 2x a day depending on the severity of the rash, which was my case. So far it's working and the itch has subsided.. The downfall to this product that it very expensive. $34.00 & some change. But it was worth it to me.
